“Electronic Lien Titling” aka ELT

An Electronic Title, or ELT, is a title that exists only in the Division of Motor Vehicles’ computer system and is often referred to as a “paperless” title.

The lienholder has elected to participate in the electronic lienholder titling program where the lien is filed electronically and no paper title is issued.

When you are completing your paperwork and you have a lienholder, please make sure that you select the correct lienholder and verify with the lienholder if they are an “ELT” lienholder. Below is a link to the list of current ELT lienholders.
